    Beside the great academics program Hillcrest Academy also provides a great after school program where our students can explore hidden talents like in Robotics or finishing their homework in a safe environment at out day care.

    Why Hillcrest?

    At Hillcrest Academy, we believe that the richness of the learning environment matters. Therefore, we offer our students depth, choices, complexities and challenges, aiming to intensify their learning experience. It matters that kindergarten children are exposed to interesting literature as they gain reading skills. It matters that Middle School students can choose to study French or Spanish and that homework pushes them beyond worksheets and into real creativity. We are not afraid of challenge.     Second Grade Curriculum

    The Second Grader: Socially, Intellectually, Emotionally Second graders are cooperative, yet they can be quite opinionated and slow to accept criticism.  They understand consequences and follow-through as well as good and bad, but their behavior doesn’t always reflect this.  They may attempt to solve problems through their emotions.  Second graders can be quite territorial and competitive, yet they want friends.  Their decreasing inhibitions are manifested in their talkativeness and a desire to stand up for their rights.  Tattling is still common in some second graders, and it may be countered by emphasizing a child’s accomplishments and strengths.  Self-control is still somewhat ...
